Time Flies – Do You?
So it felt as if last night I was taking my college Spring Break on March 6, and my second Spring Break is almost over. How sad :’(
Time flies, but at least I know and am extremely happy that I teach others how to use their time effectively, productively, and efficiently. Here are some secret tips I hold for the top members in my business on those three topics alone:
Effective- This goes hand in hand with being assertive in today’s world. With so many ideas, people, talent, and perseverance; we each have to be public with our dreams, goals, and track record. How can I make this easily relatable? If you’re not assertive with your ideas, showing them to people, throwing out your strengths- most people will choose the person that will. Don’t be afraid, work on your skills and show them off. There’s nothing wrong with that; it’s called being secure of your potential. Time to release it!
Productive- Are you a hard worker, but no matter how hard you do, it seems you stay still? Maybe you’re having the same financial problems or in the same crisis as last year? What could be the #1 source? Productivity. Just because we may be hard working individuals doesn’t guarantee progression. What guarantees progression is being able to maximize our work, but are constantly moving forward, even if it’s just a bit. One way I can explain is factory supply machines. Simple business- supply and demand. If there is a ton of demand, and few supply, one machine can work for hours on end and never produce enough supply. How can the factory become more productive? Install a new machine, so there can now be twice as much product. Maybe even upgrade the first machine. Even if that takes time, the truth is that sooner or later, the productivity is going to be controlled according to the supply. Grow yourself to be productive enough to solve many common problems at once.
Efficient- This is a big topic. How can we become more efficient after we’re productive? We have to teach others how to be productive. You see, when someone can do something 80% as well as you can, it’s time to award that person with the responsibility. That opens up time, and allows you to continue on the harder task at hand. The bigger problems are now going to be solved sooner than later, while you have a teammate helping you with the problems you used to have. It’s all about synergy, and with that comes efficiency.
Long post short- combine those three and time will be available for the things you love. And when you do the things you love- time will fly, and so will you.
