World of Pain
We live in a world of pain right now.
It does not make sense to me, it is very confusing to both you and I.
At age 10 we are told the world is ours, to be imaginative, to do whatever we love.
At age 15 we are told we need money, material items like a fancy car, or a big house.
At age 20 we are scared into getting a job we don’t want to go to, we just have to.
At age 25 it seems that is judgment time; if James didn’t go to college, he was known as a failure or statistic. If Nancy had 4 kids and no father she was a ruin. If Hector was a Doctor he was the only success of his graduation class. And if Maria became a teacher and got married, people would say she wanted the easy way out, and that’s why her pay is less than half of Hector’s.
What is wrong with us in today’s age? What happened to letting our imagination free? Since when does having all the money in the world help you sleep? Why are we tricked into working somewhere and end up paying more than what we need for? I find it so sad to know of so many people in my high school graduation class that started working three years ago to save up $500 and they are still trying to save up those $500.
James didn’t go to college because he studied something that would promise money, but his heart was not in it, so he dropped out. Nancy had four kids because her boyfriend said it was the only way to prove she loved him. Hector goes into work every day and helps the sick people only to realize more than half of them don’t have insurance so he has to make life choices for those in need. And Maria decided to be a teacher but gets annoyed by her children; what she really wanted to do was be an actor or singer. But all her friends and family say that’s silly, that it’s a one in a million chance, which it’s only for the perfect, the gifted, someone else, but not her.
Let me tell you something. It could be one in a million. It could be one in 6 billion. If you know you ARE that one- the numbers don’t matter. If you know deep in your h eart that you are the one person that WILL get the Career they want, you will study unafraid. If you feel you are the one in a million that can become an actor, then you will go audition after audition until you nail the spot for the next Hollywood film. If you know you are the one that will DIE for your dreams to come true- then let the criticism, the hate, the hopeless chatter of those around you fade away and keep telling yourself that you will get new friends, set new goals, take action and BE the one in 6 billion.
Are you ready to be who you are meant to be?
