Spark In Your Eye

I am still excited from the speech I gave last week at the University of Texas-Pan American to the Senior Class Business Majors.  The blessing it was to see their faces light up in hope and attention was incredible.  The best part was that I went over the main points that I speak about in my first book along with a few secrets I teach in my second book:

How to treat people correctly and know them by heart instead of by receipt.  It’s weird, and rude, to think of any person as a walking dollar bill.  For one- none of us are that literally.  For two- I always feel disrespected or if I am of no importance to employees at stores that don’t care at all about my personal goals or why I purchased something from them.  Three- we are worth more than any amount of money we can ever have in our lifetime.  People, simply put, are priceless. Imagine treating all your friends as extra money, I bet you wouldn’t have many pretty soon.  Same goes with hiring people for a business or growing a Team.

Have faith in your marketing.  Some people hear the word “marketing” and assume that we are talking about making massive amounts of money from out of nowhere.  As great that sounds, it’s practically impossible.  If it’s possible, it’s probably illegal.  So what is “marketing”?  Marketing is putting some money we may have and investing it in something that has a BIG chance to bring us back more.  This is not the stock market.  This is not advertising.  As a matter of fact, it’s actually something you do on a daily basis!  When I used to work at my old job, I worked per hour.  I wanted to get promoted, so I bought professional clothes, showed up early as much as I could, I even skipped class a few times.  All this is actually marketing.  Why?  I was doing things that cost me time, money, energy, sacrifice, and effort- hoping that they would bring me back something more in return.  What was that something?  Getting promoted.  The only problem was that I kept getting asked to sacrifice more and more, until it got to the point where my investments were family- and like I stated earlier, people are priceless, so I had to change.  If that all sounded confusing, here’s a smaller example- putting gas in your car daily or weekly to go work and get paid more than the cost.

Change lives for the better.  I went on a good five or more minutes talking about this one sentence, because I’m extremely passionate about doing just that.  I posted on my personal profile, “Did you know that at any time there are 1 in 20 employees in the workplace who suffer from depression or suicidal thoughts due to their financial situation or massive debt?  These are people that are single, married, may or may not have children, college students, anyone!”

So I asked the entire class of 30+ soon-to-be business owners:  What are you going to do to save that 1 out of 20?  Will your business be the reason they are depressed or having suicidal thoughts?  Or will your business be the life-changing chapter in their life that saved them from their last job?  It was a moment of epiphany for many, as I could see their eyes light up, a few leaned in forward with intensity, others were writing down these questions.

Life is a battle, but we have what it takes to win.  Life is about helping ourselves so we can learn how to help others.  Living is helping so many people that we no longer are focused on just us, but focused on the better of those that need help.  So I ask you, my wonderful blog reader, how can you implement these three points that I talked about today?  Let me know right below, or on my FaceBook page, I would love to know 🙂

Credit Cards

It’s weird when I get told, “Well you don’t have a credit card, so you don’t need to worry about debt!” or “Without a credit card, you’re not a real adult.  Get one, waste money, and then I’ll take your business serious.”

Two words: Extremely Confusing.

In my Financial Maturity Chapter, I talk about my old debt (over $13,000) and how I got out of that debt with great physical work ethic.   Not only that, I also kept taking out loans since that debt was over, and using my old job to pay for it.  Here’s a secret I never told anyone:

I always got denied a Credit Card!

It was not my credit score, I had better credit than my friends who got approved!  It was not my bank, nothing wrong with my accounts, kept my account active, it was just luck or something.  So as far as not worrying about Debt, that’s a big lie.  A lie that comes out to over $15,000+

As far as not being a “real” adult- I’ve helped out professors, doctors, friends, and family that are over twice my age (over 44 years old!) in managing finances.  So that’s not true.  I’m not going out on a limb here and say I’m extremely cheap either because as soon as my home business started blooming, I’ve taken out my family and close friends to many trips, vacations, restaurants, and have participated in gift giving!  As a matter of fact, most people take my business serious because finances IS a huge part of it.  What’s the point of running a business if it’s not helping your income?

Here’s the funny thing- As soon as I started making over twice my old checks by working at home… every single credit card company started sending me letters, pre-approved, even phone calls to my cell phone to get one.  If God did not want me to get in debt back then, He sure does not want me to get in debt now.  I deny those companies and help others get rid of theirs.

Just a few weeks ago, a Member was crying over how happy she was to be purchasing all her family’s Christmas gifts with cash!  How awesome is that?!  Other Members just cut up their credit cards!  Friends of mine are paying off college tuition with this business, and parents are spoiling their kids with the extra money.  It’s a true marvel to see such seeds bloom with the help I offer.  Are you the next financial success story?

UTRGV Presentation

As I was preparing a speech for a College Senior Class at The University of Texas- Pan American***, I got caught up in the thought itself and went on a fact spree.  Something I myself I do not like doing.  But what is a fact spree?  In simplest terms it is the easiest way to bore an audience; you just state a bunch of facts.  In my case, it would be the return on investment (ROI), investments (including costs), hiring; many different aspects to my businesses that I actually never look at.

So what is it that I actually do when I get asked to publicly speak?  What about make a business speech?  I talk about my beginnings, why I keep learning and expanding even after I reached the level of success I initially aimed for (which was to leave my old job that left me broke or in debt), and about how I build a team, or even better, leaders in different businesses.  Now that is what has truly taken many individuals and I in Team Xtreme League into owning a successful home business or having enough to return or pay for college in its entirety.

One question came to my head throughout this reflection: Why did I start going into a Fact Spree?  Was it because I wanted to show off?  Maybe even make a point that my prior plans were correct?  To recruit during the speech?  Somehow convey that my business was full of sunshines and rainbows?

Of course not.

It was because I had done one thing that can put anyone astray when it comes to the truth- forgetting our beginnings.  I will not do that, ever.  This might be one of the most random blogs I have written, but I felt like this would connect with my readers on a more personal level.  I will not forget where I came from, what I have been through, nor forget it in any speech that talks about success, business, team building, leadership, or anything that pertains to my life.  A fact spree bores people and does little to help someone say, “This can actually help me somehow.”

And that’s my purpose- to change someone’s life.  Success comes from that change 🙂

Small Bumps

It has happened again…. A Monday, bad start, got criticized, and I have an exam tomorrow.  No breakfast, about to go workout, and I have much less drive than usual.

But this is when small bumps on the road come into play.  The ones that don’t really make a difference, but you feel them.  I pause and reflect of all these bad things:

“What if today was just Monday, but everything else was great? Then it’s just a Monday.”

“What if I had a bad start?  Then I can change it to make it better.”

“If I have no breakfast, then I’ll eat as soon as my workout is done so I can get back on track.”

It surprises me to be able to give the answer to all my problems today if they were separated.  The biggest question is: Do all these small problems equal one big problem?  Absolutely not.  As a matter of fact, this gives me a profound new outlook to life.

If today has many problems, I have what it takes to make it a great day.

My worst days make me my best.

I preach and implement this a lot to my Team because I have found it to be true time and time again.  Through struggles we find ways to succeed.  Through tragedies, we find ways to cope.  Through life changing events, we find life changing pathways.  It’s similar to experience- we learn from it.

But only if we voluntarily do so.

Over a year ago, if I had the exact same type of day- more negative than anything else- I would just stay home.  Do nothing.  Wouldn’t learn, help, reach out for answers, or even eat.  I would be rather ‘wait it out’.

What has changed that type of outlook?  One way is to cut up a bad day into productive sections like I stated earlier.  Fix, repair, and learn from each ‘bad thing’ and turn it into a valuable insight for future reference.  That’s something I felt I needed to share with you, and I’ll share another ‘bad day’ to ‘great day’ solution on Thursday.  What do you do on days like this?

Take Charge

Ever wonder how some people get things done every single time they need to?  Or maybe you have been observing a friend who happens to have life going the way they want to and somehow you seem confused as to your life not going as planned.  It comes down to many factors, but the biggest on is taking control.

Now, I know how this sounds- kind of bossy or selfish, BUT the truth is: in order to make our lives run the way we want them to, we need to take most, if not all, responsibility for our actions or reactions.  Let’s be honest, sometimes life hits us with things that we have no control over, but the reaction we have to those events is STILL in our decisions thereafter.

Today, I will give you five tips to take control of your life and steer it in the right way.

Take chances in what you have a gut feeling you should try.  Sounds risky, right?  The truth is that the most successful people tried to make something happen before they themselves were ready.  They took charge and believed in themselves enough to take a chance for the better.  As a matter of fact, I took the chance to help out one person when I started my health and fitness coaching last year (October 2012) and now it has become my Career.  Taking a chance can give you ultimate control of your future.

Be spontaneous when it comes to taking a break from work or life in general.  As much as having our weekends our rest days seems great- it means it’s something set in stone.  If you repeat something over and over again, you don’t appreciate the value of it.  Think about running at a track- one lap is fine, maybe 8 is ok.  But once you start running over 10- running in circles gets boring, just like doing nothing every Saturday night.  Do something on the days you’re supposed to rest and you’ll find another rest moment during your week.

Be confident in winning.  Whether winning means a game of pool, basketball, a promotion, having a dinner with the family, or even cracking a lame joke but having everyone laugh- confidence takes a lot of self- belief.  Don’t go to the point where you’re cocky, nobody likes that person.  Be confident enough to do something you wish you could on a small scale, that way you can stay humble and soon after push yourself even further.  Think a guy or girl is cute?  Ask them what their favorite music is- the lifelong relationship always start with a small question 🙂

Stay within your hours.  My Team and I get to choose when we “work” and how much time to put into our business.  I stay within a 7-hour workweek.  I never go over, and I don’t go under 5.  As little as that sounds, I honestly give it my utmost focus.  If I work one hour on Monday, then for one hour I am focuses: no phone, no internet, no eating- just efficient and productive time.  If you have to work a six hour shift every Friday, don’t go over just because you want to impress your manager- chances are he/she’s always going overtime and doesn’t see the value.  Trust me, I’ve been there, done that, sacrificed WAY too much to impress my ex-bosses in that manner and the only thing I received was a longer shift.

Have fun when you know you deserve it.  Work hard, play hard, sometimes harder.  We may be grown into believing that the only time we have to enjoy is once we receive our check, or get that Bachelor’s Degree, or after we clean our room.  Honestly, I have fun every single day of my life because I know I earned it.  I teach my Team that less hours, more efficiency, and involving fun is the magic trio to success and having control.  When you can decide to have fun at any moment- you start your work with a smile because you know you now have the control over when you have fun.  It’s not a waiting game- it’s a life of choice, so choose.

I involve this every single day of my life and I’m writing a small book on how to take control of your life one hour a day.  Believe it or not, one hour a day can expand to become your entire life of control and happiness.  Ask yourself this- Can I decide when I want something to happen?  Or do I have to wait until I am allowed?  I know you want to have your life in order, so take charge, take control, and enjoy the ride you create.

Middle of the Month

It’s that time again!  The middle of the month 😀

During this time, I look at how far I have come across my goals, and then the goals I have for every four months (quarter) and the progress I have made.  Did I do what I could to be where I want to be, or did I surpass?  Maybe I came up short and now I need to figure out how to catch up.

The good news?  Any progress is great, even if it is minimal.  How so?  Simple- I look at everything as a way to make progress.  And Progress is moving forward, even just a little bit.

Eliminating doubt is one of the biggest, hardest, easiest, or most confusing thing to do when it comes to goal setting.  Doubt can hold you back, or slam you to the floor because it is internal.  Only you can tell yourself that you can’t.  How do you get rid of it?  Easy!  You hang around the people that PUSH you forward.  They ASK you if you’re on task.  If you’re running a home business- your TEAM’s success is YOUR success.  Are you doing everything possible in an efficient manner to still enjoy your day?  Just because you made the check you wanted last week by putting in 70 or 80 hours doesn’t mean you enjoyed it.  As a matter of fact, you had to sacrifice the one thing no one can get back- time.

Change your life a little bit every single day.  I did this by writing in my daily journal what qualities I had to offer just about anyone that came across a conversation with me.  Just last night I was chit chatting with a few neighbors in my dorm about my plans for the future.  I asked one of them, Robert, “What do you think of paying $850 per month as rent here?  I’m personally thinking about moving out to an apartment with some friends and paying $300 tops.  That’ll give me $550 extra, and $100 I can put into my business to create $1,000.”

Robert replied, “That’s a great idea!  Just make sure you don’t lose control of your time to study.  Now about helping my business explode like yours- how do you do that?”

I’m not going to continue the conversation because that’s private business, but did you see how I did all of the above?  I talked to Robert, someone who: believes in my plan for something better, keeps me accountable by asking me about my personal business, reminds me that I need to be efficient to have time to study for my classes, and finally asks me to help his business out.

I know this is probably the first post where I talk about money in exact numbers, so bear with the amount I’m typing.  Some families are living paycheck to paycheck at the amount I pay my dorm per month- so if you might be near or living this way, this is your sign.  I can help you get rid of the doubt.  Create your own business alongside me, take the fun and simple trainings I have for you to start earning extra for you, your family, children or siblings.

If you’re a college student like me, guess what?  That extra money is going to help out SO much with textbooks.  If you’re paying less than $850/Month, imagine the extra money you would have to keep the bills in check and maybe go out this Friday night with some friends and not worry about overdrafting.

As a Team, we will eliminate all doubt.  Push forward.  Become better, more efficient, and more positive.

IBB Pro

One year ago, October 2012, I had one message in my inbox from someone asking for help.  A mother with the mind to become the best she could be for her family.  I took the chance, and did my very best to help her.  By working together, we saved her life.  Through the following months, we created an entire organization that became a thriving business.

Most people think of big money when they hear the word “business”.  We don’t.  As a matter of fact, our business is about changing lives.  Not selling, not banking, not having huge checks come in the mail every week.  Our slogan is “Achieve Your Dream” for a reason.  As an organization, we want to help every single person that has a goal to achieve it!

Personally, I have been able to use my first business to fuel the next 3.  I have published one book, and the second is soon to release.  I found out my passion is writing, and now I can do what I love, PLUS go to college FULL TIME.  Some people think I’m crazy, but I went through so many hardships that FORCED me to become a better person.  I don’t believe in staying still and hoping for something to change.  God gives you the opportunities every single day, whether you take them or not- He gave you the free will to decide.

The vibrant woman I’m holding in this photo is a IFBB Pro and was one of the judges at Las Vegas, June 2013 for a natural body building competition I was in.  All expenses paid- airfare, hotel, and food.  Ask anyone, seriously ANYONE, from my high school if they thought I would end up competing in something like this.  They would be up front and say “No.  He was just a chubby nerd, and someone who injured his knee.  It would be the LAST thing on our minds to see Peter do something like this.”  Most everyone would agree I had the potential to grow, but only through a mental aspect, not physical.

I wanted to upload this picture as soon as the event was over, but honestly, I wanted to know if I was dreaming.  To have my life change so drastically in the right direction in such a short time has been a HUGE blessing.  So it is my responsibility to help YOU do the same.  Some of you are going through financial troubles, I know what that feels like.  Maybe you’re in a job that does not pay enough for your family or monthly bills- I suffered through that as well.  If you’re my age, you’re going to college or maybe not, but finances are hurting your grades.  I’ve been able to help others just like you focus on school, quit their job, and earn a real income with your body and health.  The biggest asset you have in life is the one thing your life depends on- Your mind, body, and health.

The best part of my business is the proof.  I have a website with a Success Stories Page, an organization that spans across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.  My 3 other businesses are world-wide with leaders from the United Kingdom, Australia, and India (at the moment, which is expanding at great speed).

My professors constantly ask what my age is, and cannot believe the number of lives I have changed.  Age does not matter when it comes to a better life- whether you’re 18 or 54, I’m here for you.  I’ve gone through so much, and my book explains how far I got pushed until I knew my life needed to change.

This is your sign, go for it.  Do your best and live your dreams.  Sleep with a smile, and grow as I teach you how to do the same, or better, with your life.  I believe in you, and if I don’t know you- I believe in you MORE because sometimes it takes someone you don’t know to change your life for the better.

Sleep or Not

Sleep or Not?

When it comes to running four businesses, I get asked how do I find the time of day to do so.  The answer is that sometimes I don’t, I find the time at night.  As a college student, the term “all-nighter” is very familiar, and I live through it every so often.  For that same reason- college.

As far as running a business or multiple ones- sleep is extremely important.  Today, I’m going to give 5 tips on how to manage sleep along with your business or job.  Remember that in a Career or successful business, YOU decide how much you sleep- NOT the other way around.  Let’s get started 🙂

  • Eat healthy. It plays a massive roll on sleep and feeling refreshed.  Don’t expect to have a great night sleep after eating pizza- that can cause heartburn amongst many other health risks involved.
  • Sleep smiling. I know how simple this sounds, but at one point in my own like, I would always fall asleep upset or confused.  Do something you like before bed, you’ll be happy and ready to go the next day.  If not, you might be waking up as if you got hit by truck instead.
  • Be comfortable. The couch might feel like the best place to sleep after a long day at work or putting a gameplan for your business team, but you can wake up with a back that needs to pop or neck that needs to be massaged for at least thirty minutes.  Give that extra bit of energy to make it to your bed, your body will return the favor when you need that energy the next day.
  • Forget the phone. Research has proved that the light used on smartphones tricks the mind into staying awake.  As much as people say, “I read a few things on my phone to get me sleeply,” the truth is that when the shut their phones off instead, they fell asleep in half the time or sooner.
  • Sleep the right amount. 6-8 hours a night.  Unless you’re a college student that procrastinated for your midterm.  Then it’s completely fine.  If you are sleep deprived, you will feel anxious, nervous, even nauseas which is the biggest reason why most people do not eat breakfast (which is a VERY bad way to start any day).  If you sleep more than you need to, feeling refreshed is not what you will feel.  Not only that, the time you overslept could have been used to get ahead with what kept you up the night before.  Don’t repeat the cycle- start something new that helps you instead.

Those are 5 tips I live by, even when running four businesses.  Sleep is the second most important aspect to my life, eating healthy is the first.  Implement these tips today and sleep better!

Official Release

The First Of Many

The first book I have written got published around a month ago, approved this past summer, and released today.  Words cannot describe how I feel right now about this.

Thank you so much for having followed me from the very beginning, and I look forward to those that have barely gotten to know me know about my beginnings.  My “About” Section does skim over the reason of why I base my success on the success of your own life, but Seven Months To Happy Tears explains EVERYTHING in great detail.  Being the first edition and only had editors help with the linguistics- I want YOU to get your copy as soon as possible and take advantage of the 30 Day One on One Life Coaching I’m giving as a bonus.

Aside from this, I want to make it a public announcement that I LOVE education so much, I will be donating 10% of ALL proceeds to the ChallengeToLive, Inc. Scholarship Fund for Fall 2014.  I still have goosebumps all over my body knowing that I’ll be giving a scholarship while I’m in college myself.  Sounds something a crazy person would do, but I know it will change someone’s life 🙂

I also want you to comment below or on my facebook page asking about my next book that will be (hopefully) released on October 31st! If you do, I’ll give you an extra bonus aside from the 30 Day Coaching!  Have a wonderful week 😀

Busy BEE

Today I am literally writing my blog as I’m getting into half of my day.  There is a misconception to how I plan ahead or even how I live my day hour to hour.  In my video tonight, I will be explaining more in detail of as far as visuals so you can grasp the type of energy I have as I make decisions of what to do and when.  Here’s a simple outline:

6am-8am I am usually reading, anything from horror/suspense/action novels to personal development.

8:15am-11am/12pm I’m writing on my second book or revising my first one (publishing my first book still allows me to make last minute changes. Thank God because sometimes I forget to type certain words that hold a sentence together haha)

12pm-2pm THIS is where my day shifts because I am in my dorm, or on campus, 100% focused on my homework or my 3 businesses.  The one that needs MORE attention as far the time to effort ration is the one I do first.  Yup, that’s right.  If my homework is, for example, due tonight at midnight, and I have to write a blog by 3pm, I do my homework first because that has a strict time limit.  If I don’t write my blog, I can still upload it tomorrow.

That’s one of the biggest responsibilities of any business- YOU choose when you “work” or put in the hours.  Once you’re able to leave your old job for the business you have created, it is a big responsibility as to when and WHERE you work (a Couch or Desk makes a HUGE difference in terms of efficiency).

3pm-7pm Class time.  Sitting in front of my professor, engaged, listening, writing notes down, capturing as much as I can to get the best grades possible.  I have one more year (since I’ve decided to go full time in the summer semesters as well) and I am NOT going to mess anything up.  I simply want to get my Degree as soon as possible 🙂

7:30pm-Before Bed I do what I didn’t do at 12pm-2pm.  Very simple, but sometimes it can be complicated since college life can change drastically in the evening.  Let me put it this way- at 7:45pm, the campus is a ghost town, at 7:55pm somehow I missed the memo that they are having a party across my street, games and food on campus, and a live concert of a few local bands at a restaurant at the apartments down the road.  Guess who gets invited?  Everyone.

Now, I eat 5-6x per day.  My shake for sure has one covered, which is usually after I workout.  Two meals area always prepared on Sundays (my slowest day with the most amount of free time).  The last few meals are covered by my Meal Plan.  When do I workout?  That depends on the day itself, but every day I usually finish something earlier, or my classes are dismissed sooner, or maybe I take a break from reading a book.  My day is always flexible, and sometimes I feel wiped out by 7pm (which happens for most people, unless they have the afternoon 5pm crash, then it’s 5pm).

As I say in Chapter 5 of Seven Months To Happy Tears:

Stay Positive. Stay Strong. Don’t Stay Still.

Another great tip I would suggest is going all out every single day, as much as you might want to take a nap or do nothing because it has already taken a toll- make the choice to do something more.  If you get invited to something and you only have 20 minutes to spare, go for it!  And then do the same thing the next day, and the following day.  Let’s see how many days in a row you can go and experience life as much as possible.  I Challenge you to do so.

With Your Exciting Day In Mind,

Coach Peter Hanz

P.S. I have a personal goal to be able to last one week like this in Las Vegas.  When I went in June, I only lasted 4 days/3 nights.  I did not sleep, but it was completely worth every single second 😀
