You ARE A Leader

Straight up, no catchy phrases, no sugar coating. YOU, reading this blog, ARE A LEADER.

Too many times, we are left wondering why it’s impossible to get our life on track to, “how it used to be,” or wonder “Why are you making me suffer, God?” (or Universe, if you don’t believe in a higher being).  The truth is, when we yearn to be in the past, we feel deep regret.  When we thing that God, the world, or the universe, is against us, we feel despair and see little to no positivity in our future.

What’s really going on is that the leader within you is suffocating.  There is no air, no food, no life coming from the leader inside of yourself.  This may sound crazy, but after helping hundreds of thousands of people, speaking to audiences at universities, and coaching hundreds of businesses to success- the reason they were feeling down was because they didn’t allow their leadership side out.

We are all leaders, and we all have gifts.  It’s a law, not a theory.  It’s a fact, not an opinion.  The problem is that in our current world where we get raised up believing only 2% of the world will EVER be massively successful, we passively hide our deepest desires, biggest dreams, and stunt our professional growth.  I am here to tell you it is time to change.

Over 65% of the United States alone, sees the future worse than it is today.  And then millions of jobs are outsources to countries who see a brighter future.  Just changing your mentality can make the big difference.  Change the way you think, change the way you live.  But if you really want to change the way you think, you’ll have to believe in yourself and let the leader within burst out into the open.  Take charge of your life today!

This time last year, as you have a change to read into detail, I started earning income that was over four times any amount I ever earned in my old job where people kept telling me to hide my leader.  They kept saying I wasn’t management material.  That I was only going to get promoted after five years!  I’m here to tell you that I was pushed to the limit, harassed countless number of times, and always laughed at when I talked about creating an international business that created leaders.  Do you feel like this?  Do people you know, or even your boss, laugh in your face when you tell them you want to buy a house, pay off your credit card debt, or even see the future worse than it is today?

Feed the leader inside of you, become part of ChallengeToLive, where my personal goal is to make you see the God-given potential you have, increase your income because you have the ability, talents, and passion to do so, and have you decide where you will take your life.  I was sick and tired of being put down by the people around me that I left that old lifestyle and started a company based purely on the success of others.  I knew that eventually, I would be happier with someone else’s success than my own.  And it’s the truth.  Nothing makes me happier than to have the blessing to create a leader.  Are you ready this type of transition in your life?

Take A Break

Something I rarely do until it’s too late and I’m exhausted!  I know, it doesn’t seem like I would be the type of person to overwork myself- but with the massive goals I have set for ChallengeToLive, I sometimes may go weeks before giving myself some slack.

Just last night, I had to balance a few projects on top of a few exams on top of reminding myself to eat (I was so focused on teaching my Mentorship, I forgot to eat!).  To be honest, it’s an entire thrill ride when you can run a business AND keep going to college.  Think of it as a 24/7 gig to learn.  You’re learning in class, then you go home, you check up on your business, then teach your clients on how to have a better lifestyle, then open a textbook to study for class, then attend a seminar or two for your business, and before you know it, it’s midnight!  Trust me, it is a LOT of fun, but if you don’t have breaks- you are going to fizz out, hit an emotional or mental plateau, and possibly want to quit everything at once.  Sounds familiar?  It’s time to take a break the right way.

With my years of experience in constantly learning, growing, teaching, and speaking in front of crowds, I have seen a common misconception of what a break is.  For most people, a break is the entire summer.  Others, it’s the holiday.  Here’s what I know: You could be taking a break right now.  Think about it.  You’re reading an article on how to take a break.  Better yet, hover over the video section of my website, and watch a few videos.  They’re aimed at making your life a lot easier.  Learning and relaxing at the same time is the best type of break.  You don’t have to actively take notes down, or even give 100% of your attention- but you’re subconsciously soaking in a positive message.

Taking a break and doing nothing.  Absolutely nothing.  That’s not a break.  That’s wasting time, or as a priest in my hometown put it- the equivalent to saying, “Whatever” to the responsibilities in life.  Decide to learn something, or help someone.  You will be amazed at how much more refreshed and energized you will be if your definition of a break is switched over.  Be careful, though, you don’t want to overwhelm yourself.  Find a way to balance break time and work time.  Would you like to work only 12 hours a week, use the rest of your time to enjoy it relaxing, and learning with a motivated team?  I advise you to apply to the Mentorship- I’d love to teach you a deeper understanding of taking a real break.

Summer Heat or Summer Success

It’s that time of year again- Summer!  Now I know for most of you parents, that doesn’t start until the end of May, and for you college students, not until mid-May.  But what does that mean?  Is it a time to take a break?  Maybe lay back and pretty much… do nothing except enjoy the summer breeze?

Here’s what I know from personal experience.  From August through May, we are at our most tested, most utilized, and most engaged in our everyday responsibilities & tasks.  When it hits summer time, over 80% of the population (US, Canada) experiences a cut in hours at jobs, a decrease in average monthly income, and a larger gap of idle time.  In other words, Summer is what most of us call, “recharging our batteries.”

There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking Summer to take a break, except that is where most of us don’t look at it as a time to grow.  To become more, to test our potential.

As a leadership expert and author on personal/professional growth, I have been able to compare how much income, stress, and physical/health levels differ when two groups of people are compared side by side.  One group uses the downtime in summer as a massive opportunity to test out their dreams.  They have less hours in the week, so instead of just being home watching TV, they use the time to learn an instrument, start (or grow) a business, write a book (as I did), or get in shape.  The other group did what over 80% of the population normally does- sit back, relax, and wait until August begins the cycle again.

The results were intense.  The group who took advantage of summer as an opportunity maker had a 25% increase in income, with a quarter of the group whose income doubled, tripled, even quadrupled.  This increase was due to their skills being fine-tuned, or qualities being sharped professionally, as well as self-taught.

The group who sat back, relaxed, and enjoyed the few months off stayed the same income bracket for the majority.  10% came back into August with the same number of hours.  What this means is that their summer paychecks were dragged into August, some all the way to December.  In a few instances, the income did increase, but where a contract was signed years prior of pay increase regardless of time off (usually in salary compensation plans instead of hourly).

My question is- will you take summer off and stay the same when August kicks back in?

OR

Will you take advantage of the extra time, and build yourself into a whole new lifestyle within 2-3 months?

I invite you to join the Mentorship that is still open.  Last year alone, ChallengeToLive, Inc. grew by ten times from May-June, helping hundreds of people increase their income, and doing it only part time (10-12 hours per week).  Just to give you an idea of how far we pushed last year, here are some the goals that I set for the company to accomplish before August:

-Grow internationally.

-Promote at least 10 people to a position of $500/WK+ income.

-Help 3-5 college students in CTL pay off tuition, loans, or major expenses.

-Establish a private publishing company, as well as publish 1 book.

-Create enough revenue to send 3 Members into an all-inclusive paid vacation in 2014.

-Establish an agreement with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) to create a Career option for those who join CTL.

-Pave a gameplan that coincides with NASM’s CPT program, with the opportunity of having it 100% paid for.

As big as those goals are, all of them were met and surpassed by August.  And if you’re wondering, these goals are only a few that we had outlined to accomplish over the Summer of 2013.  Will you be a part of CTL this summer and create a new lifestyle?  Or will you wait until next May where I post a few of the major accomplishments made by those who joined this year?  The choice is yours.

The 4 Change Laws

Do You Have The 4 Change Laws?

It might sound crazy, but there are 4 laws to change. For the better or for worse, these laws can build you up into a wonderful life, or demolish you through a downward spiral.  It’s up to you to decide where you’ll be heading, and it’s up to me to give you the details so you can make the best choices and begin building a bright future instead of a stress-filled experience.

  • You have to believe that you have what it takes to change. Sounds simple, but may be the hardest part of change.  Even thinking about it is hard for many.  How do you overcome this?  By thinking about change.  Just do it, over and over again.  And again.  And again until you’re pressuring yourself every second of the day that it’s time to do something about it.  An example crowds constantly enjoy is when I mix in my speech these two questions into a seminar of life success: “Are you going to complain?  Or are you going to complain and think of the solution and do something about it?”
  • When you talk to yourself about the solution long enough to believe it’s a real possibility- you’ve lifted your potential. For the past year I’ve been working privately with people who were on the last hope in a better life, and they had everything to live a life of their dreams.  The only problem was that they didn’t see the potential in themselves, they literally put a lid; a locked door; hid away chances; just stayed still.  By helping others see the real chances in life and then having them think a better life was possible, I was able to lift their lid, and they filled the gap. They became who they were meant to be, one lid lift at a time.
  • Just like action movies.  Seriously.  Think about it!  I’m not even joking here!!!  When we take action to change for the better, don’t we feel powerful?  Even hear our most favorite songs in the background?  Doesn’t everything seem to amplify itself?  Friendships get closer, choices get bigger, opportunities find you instead of “waiting for it,”? That’s the truth.  When you take action, you create a movie-like lifestyle.
  • The results and rewards. The “final” step that is actually a refueling station.  When you take action, what happens?  You get a reaction.    You do something, you get something in return.  Maybe you applied to my Mentorship, got accepted, started training, and BAM!  Promoted in 2 weeks.  You see, you get out of life what you put in.  What does this do?  Refuels your belief!  You got a reaction and now you tell yourself, “You know what? I can do MORE.  I can BE MORE!!”  Then you lift your own lid of potential, grow as a person, and take more action!  That creates results, and guess what?  You’re now loving life because it’s an upward climb every single day.  Lovely 😀

Want to know the downward spiral of these 4 steps?  Easy- Instead of thinking about the solution in step 1, think about doing nothing OR doing something that is only going to make the complaining worse.  You’ll be able to figure out the 3 other steps.  Oh, and don’t worry- we can all change.  I myself had to slow down my life and really think about where I wanted my life to go.  You see, if someone is heading toward disaster, they don’t need negative reinforcement to speed up the process.  They need to slow down, and think about where they are headed.  The rest is depends on the outcome.  Have a lovely Tuesday.

Three Vital Pieces to Life

Nearing the end of the cruise from last week, I asked in my Facebook Page what topics I should blog about.  A friend from Canada asked me to talk about improvisation in music, exercising, and life.  As a mix.  As in, finding a way to have all three into one!  I have to say, it did take me a while to figure this out; cool part is that almost all of us have a certain mix of these three pieces.  How so?

When it comes to improvisation in music, we all have songs that are recorded into our memory that give us flash backs to chapters in our lives.  I’m pretty sure you remember a song from the happiest moments in your life, and another song for when something really sad occurred as well.  For me, I just mixed jazz, classical, and live salsa music to the newest update in my life- taking vacations and paying others to take them with me in my Mentorship.  (By the way, it will re-open in time- the deadline was yesterday!)

Exercising.  How much easier can life be enjoyed when we exercise?  If you do it right, exercising IS life.  If you do it wrong, all it creates is injury, fatigue, lack of enthusiasm, and a negative feel towards it.  When I think of basketball, I remember my high school years and how all we did was run until we puked, sprint until we puked, and did random circuits that seemed out of the blue (honestly).  I tore my meniscus, and needed knee surgery.  Up until two years ago, I gave exercise a negative feeling.  But now that I think about basketball, it has been replaced by sharing the basketball court on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship with the Fitness Celebrity Tony Horton.  He is hilarious to compete against and has a heart of gold in abiding by rules.  What a MUCH better, positive, and happy vibe to give the word “basketball”!  Same applies to the word exercise.  Do it with a Challenge, share the experience, and have FUN.  If you don’t, you will ALWAYS dislike it.

Life.  Hmmm… I am going to keep it simple on this one.  Life, in my definition, is helping yourself and then helping others.  Firmly, I believe that if we cannot help ourselves- we will lack the core principle to succeed in life: experience.  Without experience, we can’t learn.  If we can’t learn, we can’t help ourselves.  If we can’t help ourselves, it’s almost impossible to help others.

Now to mix the three, I have to go backwards 🙂  Life is about helping yourself out, and then helping others.  Exercising is the single-guaranteed and most important aspect to life when you have the right knowledge, and fun.  When you have fun and start enjoying a healthy life, you begin listening to music that ties with that feeling.  When you tie feelings to music, you create memories.  And when you create memories, you now have a story of success to tell.  When you tell it, you teach others how they can help themselves.  Once they help themselves, they can help others.  And the process repeats.

Time Flies – Do You?

So it felt as if last night I was taking my college Spring Break on March 6, and my second Spring Break is almost over.  How sad :’(

Time flies, but at least I know and am extremely happy that I teach others how to use their time effectively, productively, and efficiently.  Here are some secret tips I hold for the top members in my business on those three topics alone:

Effective- This goes hand in hand with being assertive in today’s world.  With so many ideas, people, talent, and perseverance; we each have to be public with our dreams, goals, and track record.  How can I make this easily relatable?  If you’re not assertive with your ideas, showing them to people, throwing out your strengths- most people will choose the person that will.  Don’t be afraid, work on your skills and show them off.  There’s nothing wrong with that; it’s called being secure of your potential.  Time to release it!

Productive- Are you a hard worker, but no matter how hard you do, it seems you stay still?  Maybe you’re having the same financial problems or in the same crisis as last year?  What could be the #1 source?  Productivity.  Just because we may be hard working individuals doesn’t guarantee progression.  What guarantees progression is being able to maximize our work, but are constantly moving forward, even if it’s just a bit.  One way I can explain is factory supply machines.  Simple business- supply and demand.  If there is a ton of demand, and few supply, one machine can work for hours on end and never produce enough supply.  How can the factory become more productive?  Install a new machine, so there can now be twice as much product.  Maybe even upgrade the first machine.  Even if that takes time, the truth is that sooner or later, the productivity is going to be controlled according to the supply.  Grow yourself to be productive enough to solve many common problems at once.

Efficient-  This is a big topic.  How can we become more efficient after we’re productive?  We have to teach others how to be productive.  You see, when someone can do something 80% as well as you can, it’s time to award that person with the responsibility.  That opens up time, and allows you to continue on the harder task at hand.  The bigger problems are now going to be solved sooner than later, while you have a teammate helping you with the problems you used to have.  It’s all about synergy, and with that comes efficiency.

Long post short- combine those three and time will be available for the things you love.  And when you do the things you love- time will fly, and so will you.

Ready for a Paid Vacation?

I know, I know… I tried my best to unplug while I was on the free cruise many ChallengeToLive, Inc. Members and I earned.  But… I couldn’t do it!  Whenever we take vacations or trips of this magnitude, I can’t help bust ask myself, “Why did I ever work at my old job and stay broke or in debt to loans and never have the money to take a vacation???”

-photo-

The truth is, and also according to CNN, 76% of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck, and are used to it.  There is an illusion of safety in work per hour, but no safety in life’s unexpected events.  Most people keep doing a job, but work so much they need to spend the money on simple quick fixes so they don’t go clinically insane.  Examples include eating out on the daily, drinking ever few days, or buying products on credit that they cannot truly afford.  The truth is, without a mature and open mind to finances- it’s a vicious and unpleasant cycle to live in.

The problem?  One or no vacations a year per person.  Much less per family.  And even less for a group of friends.  I truly think it’s time to change.

Those in the ChallengeToLive, Inc. Team are enjoying this wonder blessing of a paid cruise to Cozumel and the Cayman Islands, many more will be joining me in a corporate training in Las Vegas in June.  Next Spring will be Cancun, and the list goes on for years!  If you really want to start earning what you deserve, it all starts with your health and fitness.  That’s what ChallengeToLive is about at its core.  Public Speaking, Publishing Books, and influencing thousands of lives in Elementary Schools through Major Universities is a by-product of what I first decided to do: create a healthy and fit body.  Now it’s your turn.  Apply to the Mentorship, start your own customized challenged that is guaranteed for your goals, and increase your weekly income.  Will you join the CTL Team and I at our next vacation, or will you be working a tiring week without space to enjoy life?

Back On Track

It’s the evening and I am wiped out!!  Having Spring Break come along was a wonderful way to relax, but it completely threw off my sleeping pattern, eating habits, and workout regime.  How did I manage to get back on track in just one day?

This information is in one of the biggest chapters in the future book “But When You Pray” I will be co-authoring with some friends: keeping the future bright and happy, with the past pushing you FORWARD instead of wanting to go BACK.  Ever asked yourself in what time do you see yourself happier than you are right now?  If you see yourself happier in the future, you’re on the right track.  If you catch yourself constantly looking into the past, almost wishing you could relive the moment instead of bearing with your present self- it’s time to change.

The biggest problem is actually switching from wanting the past to yearning for the future.  If you have a chance, observe the biggest leaders with the happiest lifestyles- what do they have in common?  They live in the future by pushing forward today.  From billionaires to the mother of five and attending community college, if they are happy, they are constantly picturing their big plans, happy children, their business organizations growing, even politicians having constant visions of winning the election years ahead of time!  And they do it while working forward today.  They make every day count for tomorrow.  You should do the same.

It’s a simple concept, and it may be unfamiliar territory for you.  So I’m going to let you into my personal life on how I went from a one week no-holds vacation to a healthy and productive lifestyle in just 24 hours:

  • I always remind my girlfriend that whenever something makes you extremely happy, find a memento such as a receipt, ticket, bracelet, maybe even a small pebble to remember the happy moment. Later on when if you feel the world is crumbling to pieces, hold onto that memento and tell yourself, “If I had a happy day before, God wants me to have my best day in the future.”  It will spark your energy and have you see opportunities to grow and learn instead of difficulties.
  • Let your imagination loose at least once a day. As my college professor informed the class; the biggest regret of the elderly at an adult-care facility is always living by the “adult” status.  They wish they laughed with their children more, tried to start a business on their crazy million dollar idea, and most of all- wished they didn’t work so much and spent more time with their love.  I may be 22 years young, but I learned this lesson from my younger brother.  He almost passed away from a fire accident last year.  And he’s younger than me.  We never know when our time is ending, and if you’re always working- you have never truly lived.
  • Travel without an itinerary, or even without money! Yup, I said the impossible, right?  Being able to travel without $$$???  Trust me when I say, if you are hungry hundreds or thousands of miles away from home, you’ll find a way to put your talents to profitable use.  If you’re in debt, put your pride aside and do some weed pulling- heck, I did it, wrote about it, and share the advantages of hard labor in my Financial Maturity Chapter!  The easiest way to have extra money is doing what most people don’t want to do- Sweat!  And that also goes with my health/fitness Mentorship.  Each person in the Mentorship has worked/is working towards exercising as part of our lifestyle, and it is creating a stable source of income.  Now it’s your turn to take advantage of it!

Well, I’m near a very important webinar with 6- and 7- figure leaders in my company, so I have to cut this blog short.  I hope you can fix your day, and ultimately your future, in just 24 hours with this information.  Let me know what you think in the comment section or on my facebook wall.  Have a wonderful Monday!

You Are A Star

You Are A Star!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I LOVE it when my business team or fans make every single day count; every single week a life changing transition, and every single year better than the last.  But how do I teach it?  As my great friend Michelle from Hawaii quoted, “Reach for the moon.  If you miss, you still land amongst the stars!”

What a lovely way to put it!  What kind of examples can be used?  I’m always trying hard to let people know exactly what I went through, as I see experience (especially photo/video recorded) as the #1 credibility check.

Last year, one of my professor’s asked if I wanted to be the keynote speaker in front of a low-income college success group, La Puente Project.  The group focused on how to have Hispanic and minority groups turn the tide around and begin new statistics that raise college graduation rates, scholarship funds, and most importantly- have future generations look at college as a must, instead of a low possibility.

By taking this chance to speak in front of a crowd of over 300 students, my professor indirectly planted a seed that bloomed soon after my first release of my book “Seven Months To Happy Tears”.  The entire speech focused on La Puente Project’s goals, my personal failures in financial priorities and future career focus.  As you may or may not know, this was in the middle of my initial business of health & fitness establishment, so being a public speaker was NOT my goal.  My goal was to quit my old job and have a comfortable income.  But by aiming for the moon and taking chances, I indirectly found out that my true passion was influencing others, motivating them to have better lives, and leading the direction to a life full of goal setting and dream realizations.

Are you in a similar situation where you have a chance to give yourself a new path?  Maybe you’re juggling three jobs, college work, and financial struggles as I was!  In whichever case you may be in, give your dreams a real chance, and aim for the moon; you never know what star you will become by experimenting with success.

Drive Your Life

Those are just a couple of the Members in CTL, Inc. and they have something in common- they decided to make a change in their income.  Karla started earning big after her personal Challenge, while Joey earned in the first couple of weeks.  This does not mean one is better than the other; it means that each person drives their life at the speed they want.

There’s a saying that goes like this, “If you run, I run.  If you walk, I walk.  If you stay still, I’ll move forward with the others and together map out the easiest way to reach your destination.”  One of the marvelous characteristics the business teams in the Mentorship is that there are people always moving forward, adding on and improving ways to earn more income, faster.  This allows people who really drive their commitment to begin earning on Day 1.  Some people decide to take it slower, begin earning after their Challenge- and so they participate when they choose to.

Too many times at an hourly job, we find ourselves lost at whether to give our best, or just show up and wait for the shift to end.  The majority of the United States hourly workforce finds confusion or frustration when their effort far exceeds what they feel they deserve to get paid.  It’s very similar to working out too hard and expecting to lose 15 pounds from one day to the next or wanting to gain huge muscles in two weeks for bodybuilders.  How do you solve it?  Seeking promotions to get paid more for the effort, or go into “Zombie” mode and have a pace that neither is fast or slow- we’re just “kinda” there.

Join the mentorship and earn what you deserve, put the effort you feel you can- you decide the pressure, and you plan out your goals.  I personally teach you what I’ve taught thousands of others, including 6 & 7 figure business owners.  It’s your turn to drive your life, take the wheel, and steer it the direction YOU want.
